its now in the booth for some satin black to go on the rear window area.
also paul has been over to collect his bay
Sorry for the poor blog updates recently.
The panels for the 914 are finally ready for primer.
Tomorrow will see primer and satin black on the rear screen/engine cover.
Will post some pics as soon as poss.
Two days off due to lurgy has put us behind a little but been back on the 914 this week and its nearly ready for paint.
Doors have just had some primer and a few bits on the body got a re-prime as we found a few bits that we not quite happy with after its full sanding. The body has had its final masking and wont be out the booth again until its painted.
We have also had some new effect paint on demo this week. some very interesting products that we are very excited about trying on a few future projects. we should be producing some demo samples that will be at the workshop if you want to see them late next week.
An example of the "rust" effect that can be applied to anything even plastic and glass. we love the look of this rusty looking plastic mirror cover. it has the look and texture of an old rusty bit of steel
Few more pics taken earlier of the T5 thats now for sale
its time to sell the ikustoms t5.
build pics are on here so take a flick back a few pages and also check out the quality of our work while your here.
started life in 2004 as a blue 1.9 85bhp panel van
first owner was a handy man in wales, van was repossessed and bought by a couple to use for weekend mountain bike trips in wales, then onto a guy in Nottingham that used it for taking his son to motocross events then onto me. hence its low millage
its now done 63 thousand miles
just had cam belt, auxiliary belt and full 60000 service.
just had 4 tyres 255/35/20
mot'd and taxed 3months ago
full spec on the bits its had done on the build page
but in a quick version
1.9 remapped to 140bhp
fully insulated/ply lined and carpeted rear
black faux leather cannons forge 3/4 bed/seat with seat belts
20" range rover sport wheels
caravelle front bumper
sportline bumper spoiler
debadged grill with welded bonnet
welded "angry" bonnet
smoothed rear bumper
-75mm lowering springs
tinted cab windows
limo tinted side windows
privacy glass rear tailgate glass
red/clear rear lights
full respray in vw pearl grey from mk2 golf range
will get some interior pics over weekend
van can be viewed any time till Christmas or from 17th jan
px on mk5 gttdi or tdi possible
O/S, made from a template of the other side and welded in to keep them both the same.
Holes from (i think) american spec indicators that steve didnt want anymore
Small plate made and held in place by a magnet before welding
Welded and ground smooth, just needs a small skim of filler to blend it in to the old paint. The inside has also been ground smooth, sealed and undersealed.
2 shots not many bodyshops post pics of, the pre primer shot. showing just how little filler we have put in. Also note the under of the car is masked up to stop any over spray getting on areas that dont want it.
Also got the new DeKUPS system from devilbiss on demo this week(we do like free stuff)
