bay time

spent the last week working away on this bay.

Its seen a full restoration a good few years ago but it not looking to good now in its lower 6 inch's.

The previous restoration involved a lot of filler. Infact its more than a lot!!! The use of filler is fine when used correctly, even when used in small areas deep is fine with modern filler but for some reason this van has an average 6mm deep all over, in some areas its about 15mm. On an early inspection we found a few areas of rust under some deep filler so the decision was made its all got to come out. So much filler has been removed. The cab door had a previous repair and a small dent but nothing more, no need for so much filler. Its had rear arch's on before, in the wrong place. the sliding door side rear arch has been sectioned down the edge to align properly to the sliding door

its now had a battery tray, rear corner,  sliding door side outer sill, front arch repair, door repair and side in primer.

The long side was also full of filler!!! the day has been spent removing it but not affecting the original steel. An outer sill section and rear corner will be going in tomorrow.
